Production

We use fish oil originating from South America, because fish from the cold arctic waters outside the coast of Peru and Chile has a very high content of omega-3 fatty acids. Oil from the North Sea contains higher levels of pollutants such as dioxin and PCBs, and a lower level of omega-3 fatty acids. The company delivering to our supplier EPAX is approved in accordance with a number of quality systems like Friend of the Sea, HACCP and GMP. The equipment they use is modern and of European manufacture. The factory has been approved for production of goods for human consumption and approved by the veterinary authorities for human use.

Our supplier EPAX is the world leader in production of omega-3 and has long history of focusing primarily on developing products with high quality and has consumer safety as their top goal. EPAX has gained international recognition for this and produce one of the purest oils on the market.

Quality Assurance

EPAX is certified by the authority for the production of foodstuffs, and by a control agency for drugs for the production of pharmaceutical substances. EPAX annually perform approx. 15 000 analyzes of the oil, among other things, of oxidation (rancidity) levels, omega-3 content, heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins, organic bi-components and trans fats. EPAX products have full traceability through the manufacturing process, from harvesting of the fish to the finished product.

Production and storage tanks are a closed system, filled with nitrogen and without access to air, to prevent the oil from oxidizing (turn rancid). Refining of oil is very gentle and takes place under vacuum, without the use of high temperatures. The production process is intended to clean oil from water and dirt, free fatty acids, saturated fat and non-omega-3 fatty acids, to remove any contaminants and heavy metals, reduce cholesterol, remove any oxidation residue and concentrate the omega-3 content.
